Monday, September 1 - Postscript

It is now October 26 - I have been home for 42 days!  Time to get down to business and get this blog written - even if it is mostly after the fact.  Let's see how well my memory serves me.

My last real blog was on Sunday, August 31, so I will take it from there.

Rathdrum to Thomastown

As it turned out, Moe woke up Monday morning not feeling so hot and we thought we were in for another day off the trails.  I called Ken, our Pathway Porter, and told him to stand by as we may not be moving that day, then called Kerri to let her know we might not make it to Thomastown either.  Irish luck was with us and within a couple of hours Moe was feeling well enough to travel. The calls went out and we were on our way, via Pathway Porter van, to Thomastown!

Ken dropped us off at Kerri's door and we immediately felt like we were visiting an old friend.  Kerri's warm and inviting manner, not to mention her Irish sense of humour, welcomed us with open arms and we spent the afternoon sharing stories of family, friends, life, and love.  That evening Kerri brought me out to a Kilkenny bar (Moe decided to stay home and recuperate) where I experienced my first Irish "session" - trad music, poetry, stories and and more trad music.  A whole ton of fun!

The next day Kerri played tour guide and showed us some sights - including the famous golf course where the Irish Open is played, Mount Juliet.

Our day ended at Thomastown Train Station on our way to Waterford,  then a bus ride to the city of Cork, where we would spend the night before heading on to Killarney.   More on that next post!  Big hugs and a million thanks to Kerri for such a wonderful visit.
